International
overview
When clients need legal guidance to doing business around the world, Burns & Levinson is there to help. Clients across borders and cultures rely on our team to develop business strategies and to set up their international operations. We have the required experience and ability to navigate and work through different cultures and foreign jurisdictions. We help our clients with joint ventures, subsidiaries, mergers, acquisitions, sales, contracts, distributorships, licenses, technology transfers, international tax advice and planning, exporting and importing goods and services, project development and a broad variety of other business and commercial transactions and agreements. We structure, negotiate and secure cross border financing, protect intellectual property, conduct and manage due diligence, assert and defend legal rights, advise on employment issues, and engage in dispute resolution.
Attorneys from our Business Law, Tax, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Trusts & Estates and Employment groups team up with the skills and experience of our more specialized international practitioners to provide a comprehensive range of legal services for clients operating internationally. In addition, as a long-time active member the Law Firm Alliance, which has dozens of domestic and international members, we are able to employ our extensive network of business and professional contacts to extend our firm’s reach for the proven benefit of our clients. Membership in this network also enables Burns & Levinson to provide nationwide services for international clients doing business across the United States.
Within our International group, a number of our attorneys have developed focused practices relating to certain regions and countries including Canada, China, Europe and Israel. These practices facilitate both outbound transactions between U.S. clients and countries overseas, and inbound transactions by overseas entities and non-U.S. citizens seeking to do business in the United States.
